It happens every single year.
Christmas comes and goes,
and I have yet to address the cards.
And there is so much that was planned but didn't make.
And it seems like the year was pretty good, but is really kind of a blur.
And then I look back, and time suspends.
The year was full.
It was good.
It was hard.
It was bitter and it was sweet,
and I don't really want to let it go ... as if that's a choice.
So instead of letting go, I take the year that was 2013 and look at it from all the blessed angles,
and I try to count the uncountable joys
that
I would wish for you ...
barnloads of blessing from unexpected sources ...
companionable evenings with people you love ...
good neighbors ...
friends, who are your cousins, who are your friends ...
awesomeness on so many levels ...
great performances ...
graduates ...
friends that rock ...
sweet contentment ...
a super moon ...
a blessed event ...
and the beginning of happily ever after ...

grand birthdays ...
glory in the morning ...
glory in the evening ...
and promotion to glory with tender farewells ...
vacation ...
morale support ...
escape ...
no guitar highjackings ...
happy kids ...
blissful endings ...
bountiful harvest ...
dinner and a view ...
a good disguise ...
a soul expanding month of distinguishing one day from the next by counting joys,
golden afternooons ...
childhood revisited at the zoo ...
disco balls and karoke ...
breathtaking autumn ...
good dogs ...
50 years of Dr. Who ...
a walk in a winter wonderland ...
plenty of ice ...
nostalgia ...
and
all the joy
that God's grace upon grace upon grace
brings to a brand new year.
