Hello ... I'm new here.

What do you write in your very, very first blog entry?  I've never made it back to the beginning on the blogs I read, so I really don’t know.  It feels very awkward!  I have always journal-ed, and for a time I would start writing in new journals from the back - just to avoid the pressure of the first fresh blank page of a brand new book.  So anyway … this feels kind of like that.

When I was trying to come up with a name for my blog I ran across the false starts of many others.  So … thank you girl in 7th grade eight years ago who had never blogged and thought she’d give it a try.  And then never wrote even one. more. entry.  Thank you for using up my favorite idea for a blog title eight years ago with one single post.  And to the guy whose life was falling apart in 2007 and wrote three exceedingly painful, hurt-filled posts … I fervently hope things  made a complete turn around, and that you hung in there and rediscovered the joy in your life.

It was sort of fun to peek into the lives of other people who had the same ideas for titling their blogs.  I really hope it’s not prophetic that most of the blogs (all of them?) with titles I considered were taken … and inactive … for a LONG TIME.

Even more, though, I’d like to thank my favorite bloggers who've created this amazing online world.  I’m a stalker  a lurker  a silent admirer and too timid to comment on posts or mention names … hopefully I'll work up to that.  Thank you, Bloggers, for sharing your lives, for being so incredibly gracious, for awakening old dreams, for making me believe I might have some things worthy of sharing,  for reminding me to stop and see the small but infinitely satisfying pleasures of home and family life, for motivating me to make the little things special, for encouraging me to create and build and do-it-myself, and for inspiring me to be the best unique self God created me to be.  And thank you for making me laugh!  And for talking to me as though we’re sitting together at the kitchen table over cups of coffee and we've known each other for years

I will just stop right here to keep from saying too much and being awkward and post this so The Beginning is done.   Well … okay, probably too late to avoid the not awkward part.  Anyway ... woot!  Hello!  I’m new here!
