Ushering Spring

The kids and I are reading A River Called Forever, by Terry Moore.  It's a poignant and funny and breath-taking look at how one family experienced a mother's death.  How death actually became her liberator.
"It was not the antithesis of life.  It was simply the guide ushering the soul into a new palace."

Each season offers its own flavor of joy ... but this part of winter gets tedious for me.  I used to think of winter as the "dead" season ...

until I read Chuck Swindoll's Seasons of Life, where he describes winter as the season of reverence and rest.

I like that.

Rest.
Reverence.

But after rain swelled the creek and filled it up, up up ...

and coursed a river through the JustB ...

making a soggy sponge out of everything ...

Everything seems to be waiting ...

Sometimes it's hard to be patient during these dreary days ...

but look -

look!

the dogwood tree longs to bloom ...

and look ...

look!

Hints of spring's renewing promise ...
the season of rest is almost over ...
the season of renewal comes!

Shared joy is doubled joy ... let's double the joy for both of us - what are you most grateful for today? Click below to leave your comment. I'll go first :
